"Don't cross your bridges before you come to them" A classic Becca saying. And so useful.

HelloGooddayGoodeveningHello!!!
Sorry, it's that kind of a day. There's not really much you want to know, to be perfectly honest. Ummm, let me see.

OHYEAH! DofE for the first time last night.

LOVED IT! It was absolutely wonderfully great and amazing and I loved it and I already have a new friend (or two or three or four - ok, shup, Alicia!),
and Rachel goes (DUH!)
and Annie (who I haven't mentioned before) goes,
and Charly Wood from choir
and Will Howard (ex-train, he left Reading so I haven't seen him in aaages)
oh, and Andrew Coombes (train, and I know his sister pretty well, somehow) who I see very little of anyway.

GREATest of responses from Charly and Annie - pretty much identical to be honest.
Annie "No way. You have got to be joking me. Are you actually coming, no joking around. Omigod, I'm dead!"
Charly, puts on a fake act of no knowing me, I go with it, "Ohmigod, who are you? What are you doing here? I don't even know you. Why are you here?"
The poor woman (one of the people running it), who seemed quite old, but not too old, didn't realise we were joking. Aah, poor woman.

Umm, I HAVE GOT to go again? Duh!

Sorry, I'm going to stop using americanised sayings, such as "Duh" now, I picked it up off the boys at sailing, and you know how these things stick. I'll find a new saying soon. Promise. Ish.

OOOh, I am reading the most beautiful book at the moment. I don't know if it's even particularly good by most people's standards, but I am LOVING Eva Ibbotson (if that's even how you spell it) right now. L. O. V. I. N. G. Her books just seem to all be so magical. I read 'Journey to River Sea' ages ago. Loved it. Then some time after that, but not exactly recently, I read 'The Secret Countess.' Wonderful. Now I needed a change from the series I've been working through (there's about thirteen books) over the past few months. Definitely since sailing. Anyway, started this a few nights ago. I. REALLY. Love. Eva. Ibbotson.

Okay, I'm done lecturing you on my boring life :P

Gotta be quick!!!

This is going to be fast; I'm supposed to be in bed. Basically, I watched the prime ministerial debate. Not much to say on the matter. I agree with Nick. God, I hope the Lib Dems get in. If we get a Torrie government, I may cry. Oh, while I remember, Sophie says I was wrong in my previous post, "Politics" actually, Labour are left wing, Torries are right and Lib Dems are smack bang in the middle. Which is why they're amazing. Gordon Brown and David Cameron, I have one thing to say to you, "Stuff you!" Sorry, this is getting childish.

Moving on. I went to a flute workshop thing today. It was amazing. There were about fifteen of us and not many of us knew each other. We learnt to play two pieces as a mass flute choir and then were split into smaller groups to learn pieces more suited to our standards. It was pretty darn amazing. I love stuff like that.

Toby came to choir yesterday XD. He's going to stay. I 'persuaded' - ahem bribed ahem ahem - him to stay! (come on, I said he could have £2.50 if he stayed for a year!) CHOIR MIGHT BE GOING ON TOUR NEXT SUMMER! If we do, that will be what gets me through my GCSEs. I love choir people and the thought that at the end of my exams, I'll get at least a weekend (we don't have a clue how long it'll be) in another (probably hot, considering it's not England) to spend with some of the most amazing people I've ever met. Not because they're particularly insightful or inspirational, just because they're such amazing fun to be around!!! I'm so excited.

And finally, a last not to Rachel (everyone else, you can go to bed now if you want)
I'm sorry I haven't been in contact today. My mum took my phone after the last text you received last night was sent, put it on charge and still hasn't told me where it is. I'll get it back in the morning. I hope you're doing alright. I'll see you tomorrow, and you can have a big hug. xx

EVERYONE! WAIT!!!
I forgot to say, we were going through the videos (deciding which to keep and chuck) and we came across so many funny ones. But seriously, why was I so polite when I was little? And, more importantly, why did I always let my parents have the last word, without questioning it. I mean, they could've told me to vote Conservative and (admittedly I was young, but you'll get the idea) I'd've done it - that is, if I currently had mindset I had then, I would've done that - I mean, WHY didn't I question everything. Including the question. Sometimes that's very important.

Okay, I'm sorry, my brain's running on tiredness = rambling. Sorry.
Gnight!!!

A Friday night without Friday Night just not a proper Friday night.

Yeah, yeah, it doesn't make sense. Ish. See, a Friday night, in which I don't go to Friday Night (the proper term for which would be band and ensemble, but I call it Friday Night) is just not as good as a proper Friday night (i.e. one where I go to band).
Anyway, it's so sad, because I want to go tonight and see people for the first time in ages and be sociable and tell everyone about the key that broke off my flute and smile and enjoy myself. But I can't. Because Maestros are unfair D: ok,ok, I'm not going to sulk. Instead I'll go waste time watching the boys in their tennis lesson, that'll be a good use of my time. That didn't make sense. I'm not in the mood to make sense. I'm in the mood to talk and talk and talk nonstop, regardless of whether or not my words are gibberish and enjoy myself while I'm at it. YOU SEE! This is what the sun DOES to me! And just general happiness caused by multiple factors. Not excluding TRIFLE!!!!! I had a little pot of trifle for part of my lunch!!!

What's what?

Mixed feelings. Really, really pleased and contented to have had an hour and a half (yes that long) bath with little interruptions. Not pleased with the interruptions. Mosquito flying. Dead fly in bath. Brothers wanting towels (I have no clue why they don't just keep some towels in their bathroom. Pleased to have read so much in the bath. Pleased to have done so much work. Not pleased to have come back to my room to find Toby's sprayed his damn links deodorant in my door frame. I hate the smell of that stuff. Well. I hate it when it chokes me. It's a shame when your brother knows exactly  how to piss you off. Toby, if you're reading this, you may well laugh. But then go feel guilty and contemplate your morals and motivation on ruining what had been a good evening and good mood. That ought to do it. I feel the need to celebrate a relatively insect-free bath, but I'm not in the mood for celebrating. In fact, I'm not in the mood for anything. Except maybe relaxing. I got it! I'll celebrate by relaxing.

And finding some chocolate :D Nomnomnomnom. Yuuuuumy Chocolate.

Happy is a yuppie word.

I'm not mad, honest. No, it's a song. Seriously it is. Switchfoot.

DAMNED WASPS!

This is the fifteen minutes of internet access I'm allowing myself tonight. I have too much homework. But, to the point. I AM SO BLOODY TERRIFIED OF WASPS! WHY do they have such an ATTRACTION to my bathroom? WHY??? It's not good enough to terrify me until I can't have a bath. It's not good enough to fly into my bath. It's not good enough to encourage other insects (ladybirds, moths, mosquitoes, etc. - yes, there was a mozzy floating in my bath) to fly into my bath (that's what they're doing! there's a huge wasp plot against Alicia!). It's not even enough to make a daddy long-legs wait in the toilet bowl and climb out onto my leg (oh yes, it HAS happened - some time last year that was). IT'S not even enough to get a spider to crawl across the towel that is WRAPPED AROUND ME when I close the door to my bedroom (there's a mirror on the back). THIS ISN'T JUST A WASP PLOT, THE WHOLE OF THE SMALL FLYING AND EVEN NON FLYING THING KINGDOM IS PLOTTING AGAINST ME!!!! But no, NONE of that is enough. THEY HAVE TO GO DROWN IN THE TOILET BOWL WHERE I WON'T NOTICE THEM TILL I FLUSH!!! HOW AM I EVEN SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF IT'S DEAD OR NOT??? What if it managed to crawl up onto my leg (daddy long-legs incident but WORSE) and STING me? AAAAAAAAAARGH I HATE MY BATHROOM AND INSECTS AND SMALL STUFF. And I can't kill them. I just cannot bring myself to take the life of an insect (though I won't hesitate to get someone else to, or to kill ants - they are the exception). This is getting RIDICULOUS. Harrumph! I've had enough. I may have to boycott my bathroom. Damnit, I can shower at school!

You may've noticed. I'm slightly hysteric today.
Ohdear.

Tuesday, 20 April 2010

um.....yay?

Is this the sort of thing that should be pleasing me? IS IT? I am all psyched up, because I managed to have a shower (OK, it wasn't a bath, I'm not brave enough yet) WITHOUT anything flying at me! I am proud (in a really really really sad way, but the point is, I didn't have to rush out of the bathroom screaming my head off!)

Oh, and the not so yay side. that could be yay.
basically, my face finally doesn't resemble a tomato! i'm not saying it's brown, it's just not bright red.
buuut, big but. my nose is peeling. it kills. in fact, i lied, my whole face feels like it's peeling. ow....

Spring and Sun and Sweet Stuff! (OK, I wanted to put flowers :P )

XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD XD
I'm in SUCH a GOOD mood!!!! It's all sunny, and the trees are blossoming, and I'm wearing a skirt to school (sorry, but to me, that makes it practically summer), and the river looks pretty (not that I've bothered to walk down, but I can see it from my window XD) aaaand, the village looks AMAZING in the sun!

OK, loads of people are still stuck abroad, among them the head, and yes, the dust cloud might last until the summer, and yes, the last one took two years to blow over (apparently) and yes, I have a controlled assessment coming up.
BUT.

IT.
IS.
AMAZING!!!

THE SUN IS SHINING AND I'M JUST FEELING SOOO POSITIVE. I'm listening to good music (Courteeners, I'd totally forgotten about them) . TODAY is a GOOD day!!!!!
Okay, I'm going to sign off, before I piss someone depressed off. Sorry :S ON THE BRIGHT SIDE no, no, that was inappropriate, sorry. XD NOALICIASTOP! I'm going to go calm myself by rolling round in the garden XDXDXD

BRIGHT!!!!!

OHOHOHOHOH! I THOUGHT OF A BRIGHT SIDE! THE WASP DIDN'T STING ME!!!
No, that wasn't it, but it's still good.
The actual bright side I thought of:
People liked my hair XD
They also commented that I was turning into a "real Kendrick girl" (skirt - that's a first since year 8. rolled up.) with "sane shoes" (reference to discarded comfortable DMs, that don't look amazingly fashionable) but loads of people said "I love your hair" - which is a first. AAAAAAND Mrs Lyne (history) actually complimented me! (okay, okay, it was about my hair, and she said it was...umm...something like "complimenting"? ask sizz) BUT STILL! She complimented me! (yes, yes, my work is still crap, let me have my fun okay?)

SMILE! the world will seem brighter if you do XD

Mnum mnum mnum mnum

Don't ask. I'm in a random mood. I think I'm going to have to give up baths. I'm petrified of all things creepy crawley. Okay, that's not entirely true. I don't mind them. I even like some of them. Except ants. And wasps. If anyone has a phobia of anything, it's me and wasps. Not funny. At all. I don't mind creepy crawleys being around me. Just not near me, or in inconvenient places. Places where the ordinary solution would be to kill them. Like in the bath.
List of things in my bath in the past week:
Moth - before I ran it
Ladybird - flew in. you should've seen me jump out. in fact, no you shouldn't. but truly, I could be a high jump champion.
Wasp (tonight) - as you can tell. not good. at all. it flew in. i screamed and leaped out of the bath. soaked the floor. grabbed a towel and legged it out of the room, slamming door behind me. scream to my dad to get up here RIGHT NOW. seriously, I'm petrified of wasps.

That's the vaguely exciting part of my evening (hey, I got some adrenaline out of it - adrenaline that I used up so I didn't end up shaky afterwards - so that felt good. at the time. not something I'd go through again for adrenaline though). The more depressing current aspect of my life; german controlled assesment. It's like coursework, but I'm thinking worse. It's better than having a writing exam, but worse than coursework. It's crap. There's no other words.

On the briiiiight siiiiiide!
Umm, I dunno, I'll think of one XD

Politics

Just finished watching the prime ministerial debate.

Yes, my various informants were right. Labour and Conservatives made fools of themselves and each other. Gordon Brown kept making personal attacks on the Conservatives and David Cameron on the Labour party. You can see that they are both convinced it is only a two party election and that the Liberal Democrats don't stand a chance. Gordon Brown's got to stop deciding he agrees with Nick Clegg all the time, because he can't agree and  disagree at the same time! I was taking down a few notes so I could review what was going on afterwards, and what I noticed was, Labour and Torries were knocking each other down "what he's not telling you is...." the whole time, and seemed to forget to tell you what they were actually going to do. I got most of my notes written down on the Liberal Democrats, and I think it really has to be said, that they seem to be the only party who are clearly stating their intentions. Labour are saying "we have desperate need for a change/this must continue" but my question - if there are problems, and you've been in power for 13 years, WHY are there still problems that you haven't bothered with? Why?

Conservatives are saying "Labour haven't done this..., they're not telling you that..., we need to change this..." but they've neglected to put in any deadlines or say where this money will come from.

Lib Dems are saying, "we need to do this...., we will do this...., we will be able to afford this because....(yes, we are going to need to use savings. and we don't need this trident nuclear defence system)" they are making their intentions clear, rather than attacking the other parties.

Liberal Democrats, you have my support. Or at least I'm pretty sure you do. But everyone's entitled to change their minds. I still think Torries are capitalist scum that are leaning waaaay too far over to the right wing. I think Labour are almost leaning as far - not sure how they manage to do this and disagree with everything the Conservative party say. Liberal Democrats are much more of a left wing party and proposing to bring in much fairer changes to the system. I hope they get in. I will be eternally depressed if the Torries do.

Anyway, enough on politics. I think we have to go to Waitrose soon.
Bye xx

Au Pairs...

Okay, so I've said I'm glad to help when we don't have an au pair. I'm glad to do some washing and ironing and hoover my own room and will continue to help clear the table and load the dishwasher - helping to get the jobs the au pair was paid to do done. But that is supposed to mean that everyone helps! I do NOT expect to be left with the entire table to clear - plates and all - something the au pair never had because my father would often quote to us kids that she "is not a slave." But then I am left, twice IN A ROW to clear the entire table, do the washing up, clear away the clean crockery, all things our au pairs are PAID to do, while my brother goes outside and charges my dad a fiver to mow the lawn. I probably won't even get my pocket money this week because they've just paid to put me on a sailing course, but they are happy to give Toby DOUBLE my usual pocket money, for doing something extra, while I do something as a matter of kindness (like TWICE doing the washing up and not even complaining - to my parent's faces - about it) for FREE and am scolded for doing something EDUCATIONAL like reading or watching the prime ministerial debate or reading my book! My brothers spend the majority of their time just playing football, wasting their lives, if you ask me. And I am SCOLDED for doing something EDUCATIONAL! What is wrong with that? They follow their current passions and interests (football and rugby) and so do I, but I  am the one SCOLDED FOR THIS! LIFE IS NOOT FAIR AT AAALL!

XD

Okay, so things are going well.
I've recovered from the shock of the photo.
My face is finally turning from red to brown - though my lips are still cracked as hell from the wind and sun.
My room is almost hoover-able.
I smell nice XD (okay, that was weird, but I love smelling nice. and not just 'I had a shower,' nice, really really nice. okay enough on the lecture).
I've gotten through loads of books this holiday.
And I'm about to go enjoy playing piano and (maybe slightly less enjoyable - lips :S  ) flute.
I'm going to see Rache tomorrow and cheer her up XD especially since she is grieving for the boyfriend stuck in America :P Stupid dust clouds.
Anyway, I have loads to do, so I'm off
:D
I'm in suuuch a good mood!

Omigod!

Okay, so I have a sort of bad collage of some photos on my wall above the ex-fireplace. I just turned round to look at it while I put my PJs on (habit) and guess what! I found a new picture. I look about four (and think I probably was) and am wearing my Highlands summer uniform - black shiny shoes, white knee length patterned socks (pulled all the way up) green and white striped summer dress (knee length) green felt blazer with old Highlands logo, and - now here's the shocker - straw boater with green and purple striped band around it. It appears to be in my garden in summer before Switzerland. Okay, the going through the photos from the attic thing is going to have to be monitored more closely. I quite like this photo, I look pretty sweet. But I didn't know it existed and I just had the shock of my life. And what other pictures of me are there in that huge box??? Wish me luck, I'll need it.

Doo Bee Doo

Okay, so life has been continuing as normal. I had a great time sailing - I'm truly sad this week's over but I've suggested to Daddy that I might like to continue sailing on a more regular basis. Seeing as he loves sailing and is always enthusiastic when one or more of his three children finds fun in one of his favourite things (okay, that was badly phrased) he was pleased and I actually might get to sail more often. I'm going to miss seeing Jaz and Rowen, and even James was okay - even though his great enthusiasm to do well and learn everything (which I have on a much milder level) can get annoying. Especially when I'm right and he's convinced I'm wrong. But hey.

I've come to realise that I seem to have some sort of light switch OCD or something, because I'm unable to walk past an empty room without turning the light off. But hey.

My mild, but growing interest in the elections have continued, and through multiple sources, I'm being biased towards the Lib. Dems. (father and Ellie... by the way, Ellie's enthusiasm is very catching.) But I'm determined not to make too much of a judgement by these influences without having a look at their policies and finishing watching the debate. Although multiple sources tell me Lib. Dems. thrashed Labour and Conservative (James, Daddy, Ellie-ish, Jaz-ish-ish). Technically I've been brought up to beleive in Labour (my dad supports them and he's the one I generally ask about elections - not seeing my mum often and all) but since they've closed down that mine (grudge. grudge) I'm not best impressed - they were supposed to be the working man's party. Look how many jobs and how much industry we've just lost. In a recession.

I'm finding I never want to sleep. What's the point. I could spend 24 hours reading my book, talking to Rache, watching the debate, reading the manifestos, listening to music, reading people's blogs (Ellie, Rache). See? Why should I sleep when I have all this stuff I could do?

Anyway, night

>:(

I am in such a foul mood this morning. My head still kills. I can still only hear out of one ear. My nose is still blocked. I have lost my voice again. I have gained a stomach cramp. When I got up, Toby was in my bathroom - the girls' bathroom, might I stress! Everything I've heard on the news has just made me more depressed and pissed off with the world! Planes all over the country can't fly because of volcanic ash, from Iceland! Let's be honest, what doesn't affect planes? Then there's the point that there's actually been a volcanic eruption in Iceland. And on top of that, an earthquake in western China. What is the world coming to? We are having "natural disasters" all the time. We've just stopped thinking about Haiti. I know this all sounds really shallow, but I'm in this sort of mood.

Hmm. Dislike the world. Dislike natural disasters. Dislike Aeroplanes. Dislike animal killers for fun or for food - especially when half the world is obese anyway. I mean, in Africa etc. fine. NO just NO. I think it's the Torries, can't really remember, don't really care. Anyway, one of the parties wants to legalise hunting again. What the HELL? Elections piss me off. Labour closed down a steel mine - hello? we have a mass unemployment rate and the country's in debt (which I presume we pay off through taxes) so you're taking away hundreds, maybe thousands of jobs. The Torries are doing nothing but launching personal attacks on Labour and Gordon Brown. Which is wrong. Nobody seems to have any idea what the Torries intend to do to "mend our broken society/crippled government/ etc." Last night on the way back from sailing I discovered the farmer down in Purley has a huge Torrie poster up. Well, I should've predicted that - they're overly rich, they had three kids in private school (by the way, this is no great predjudice, I just don't like this family too much - Reading Festival Parking in Purley, there's bound to be an old article on it somewhere.)

I hate government. I hate the monarchy. This is just not going to work at all. No party (apart from the Lib. Dems.) as far as I can tell has put forward any actual plans of action. The Lib. Dems. have actually gone and published a table of what they intend to do and when and how (e.g. paying off debts). I don't support any particular party right now, but I don't want Conservatives or Labour in government. Look what happened last time Conservatives came into power. I don't know any of the other parties' policies, but I'm going to find out.

I dread the day I have to vote!

Eugh :(

I have a disgusting cold (which I have passed onto Jaz, who is calling what he has "man flu" - guys can't seem to handle a cold - and getting the same effects of it as me, just delayed about half a day) and for this reason, I lost my voice for quite a while this morning. Yes, I know, HAHA very funny for all around me Alicia has a squeeky voice! Whatever. I feel dreadful and I am not happy. PLUS, I seem to be getting it waaaay worse than Jaz, despite the fact he's making a much bigger deal of it (yes, I'm complaining now, but I've got to complain to someone!). I don't mind Jaz as a person at all, it's just when someone makes a bigger deal out of something than necessary. And anyway, I envy him because he has wetsuit gloves, boots, and presumably socks, while I freeze my fingers and feet to a point where I can't feel them, so this is my tiny way of getting him back. Point is, I can often only breathe out of one side of my nose, often not at all. I cannot hear out of one of my ears. My voice is in no way secure - it comes and goes as it pleases, regardless of the convinience to me. Okay, I'm done complaining. Be grateful you don't have a cold. Oh, and also, I will never use the phrase "I can't feel my..." loosely again, since I have discovered that you don't realise you can't feel something until you regain feeling, and I will not be pleased with people using the phrase when they clearly have NO idea. Seriously, it took me two hours to get my feet back to a normal temperature today.

Seeing as I am feeling headachey and my eyes are watering, I'm going to go now. Rache, if you're texting me, my phone's in my sailing bag and I'll be darned if I can be bothered to go find it. Sorry bout that, but I'm knackered and all I want to do is sleep. I'll talk at a later date.

Love xx

Theory!

I've done some music theory!!!! I feel so proud! I've nearly finished the grade 5 book. I don't get intervals bigger  than an octave and I don't really get composing or putting tunes to words - I'll have to ask Rachel for help. But soon, I'll have done so much that all I need to do is go back through the book and memorise how to do stuff. Also to learn a load of italian, french and german words. I'm getting there though. Oh! And to reward myself, I sat there and did the theory with a lump of chocolate in front of me, and when I finished, I allowed myself to eat it. Working towards something always seems so effective!

Burns...

Dammit! Why is it that whenever I go sailing - IN ENGLAND - I always seem to get sunburnt - IN ENGLAND - and get a completely red face - IN ENGLAND! Also, I appear to have acquired a severe rope-burn on my hands, which are killing me. My face is shiny as HELL. And my hands are heading that way. This is not because of their weird red colour, but because I keep rubbing moisturiser into them to dumn down the stinging a bit. But seriously, I think the moisturiser has some kind of metal in it, my face looks like a bloody MIRROR! It's as shiny as one!

Anyway, aside from the various burns, today was very good. We were allowed to gybe (which I appear to be a natural at seeing as all my gybes were completely smooth) and at the end we were even allowed to sail without an instructor in the boat - which should've been good. But it wasn't. I'd previously been fine with Toby (with Jaz in the boat too) but without Jaz, he was.... well let's just say there's a reason why we don't usually let him helm. Not only is he just generally bad, but he has a TERRIBLE habit of not communicating. Suddenly the boom swings across, nearly knocking me out, I scream, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!" and the reply I get? The reply to my frantic life threatened scream? "I'm turning." Helpful. Am I supposed to anticipate these "turns" (not even specified whether they're tacks or gybes - which makes a difference) and respond by first balancing the boat and then also sorting out the jib (front sail) with no sort of WARNING?? But yeah, once Toby was OFF the helm, and once he got it into his head that if Jaz said "head in," he meant "head in." Not lie to. But after that, it was fine. I helmed the boat fine and we managed.

Tomorrow's going to be one hell of an interesting day.

Sailing

Sailing yesterday. Was good. A nice change. The people were nice and I even knew one of the instructors, and recognised another. Biz, who I know from primary school and Kendrick, was instructing and the first time we went out, she tried to push the boat off and jump in, but it went without her. So that was funny, as two boys who'd never sailed before flew off in a boat without an instructor! XD

The people were actually good. There were four boys other than Toby and I. They all knew each other but that didn't constitute (new word, is that right?) any hostility. Admittedly, they did form fan clubs for just about everyone but me, and everytime they saw me on a boat with someone, called out " is better than Alicia!". I just put it down to immaturity and didn't take it to heart. But otherwise, they seem like OK guys.

I was totally knackered when we got home, but it was well worth it. Sailing again today. Actually can't wait! Usually I hate these holiday clubs our parents insist on booking us into, but I'm enjoying this one.

DofE

OK, so I'm trying to persuade my dad to let me do a silver DofE award with Rachel. Because I haven't done bronze, I'd have to do a bit of extra but it would work out. I could start doing the extra skills or physical stuff this term, and start my silver training in september, with Rache, when we're both old enough and she's finished her bronze award completely. We'll see. I really, really want to do this, but I'll be so gutted if my parents won't let me go. It's not too much extra - per week - anyway. We'll see.

Sleepovers! XD

OK, so, I feel the need for a before and after on the haircut. Don't laugh at the before; it's not the best picture of me.
Before
After

Quite a difference really. Rachel's basically already explained my past few days, (www.ravesrabbitsandrandomstuff.blogspot.com) seeing as she was with me the whole time. But I'm going to tell the bits she's missed off.

On Wednesday afternoon, she met me in town and we went to the cinema to see 'Remember Me' together. It was quite a sad film, but it didn't make me cry. Which is saying something. I cry at anything.

Before dinner, we (Becca and I) found a Grade 4 book, from which we both happen to be playing, and practised together. I thought it was really good for us because we each had to keep in time with the other and we got to see how someone else had interpreted the piece, and possibly steal some stuff (Becca had some cool articulation I might steal).

Rache seems to have missed the part where Becca, Luce and I were lying on her bed (while the others were out on the landing) playing dead ant. I'm not sure how it started. But we then went on to invent a dead millipede, with added features of millipede attack, millipede help (call for help from someone), millipede thank you (thanks to the helper). That was nothing to do with the amount of sugar we'd consumed. Honest.

Waking up at nine the next morning. Well. First, apparently I shouted in my sleep. Second, something half disturbed me at six. Third, I did not "wake up", I was WOKEN up! (Alicia is displeased.) It was still waaaay too early for my liking, but I didn't complain. I think the croissants more than made up for it, though. I couldn't decide between 'Nutella'  and 'Lyes's Golden Syrup' so I had Nutella on one half and syrup on the other! :D  That truly pleased me no end.

The visit to the river was amazing. I have never been to Caversham Court before, and I really loved it. It was absolutely gorgeous and I have some lovely photos of us there. Rache's account is accurate (daffodil pickers >:(    shun!) but I thought I might talk a bit about the flowers. See, we didn't just put any flowers in each other's hair. I had a purple flower in my hair, Becca had a purple flower in her buttonhole, then we crossed the river and Luce got us all dandelions (Becca's looked amazing in her hair) - mine went in my hat. On the other side, Becca made a daisy chain for my hat (it went round it like a ribbon) and she gave Luce and Rache a posy of daisies. Luce threaded them through her flip-flops. Ask Rache about hers. Oh! And Becca put daises in all the buttonholes of her cardigan. So, by the time we decided to walk back, we were decked in flowers.

I'm making an amendment to the train statement. The train was at 3.12. But yes, it was on the far away platform, and yes, we ran, and yes, we probably stank when we sat down on the train. The train passed a series of stations, including Midgeham. Becca and Luce commented on how Midgeham was a funny name. Then they decided they'd seriously offended a couple who got off in Aldermaston, because they decided the couple was from Midgeham, but was too embarrassed and had to get off the stop before. This was really quite entertaining to listen to, all the way to Newbury.

I'm agreeing with the rest, though, and thanking Rache for her wonderful hospitality, and her parents for putting up with us, on top of those Rache's already mentioned.

Dreams.... Nigthmares???

Okay, I'm officially worried, and it has nothing to do with my imminent (new word, don't know if that's right) haircut. Actually I had a really weird dream. First, some background:
1. Miss Stacey is my over-nice maths teacher who tries to be best friends with everyone in the class but is a real b**** and has a short temper. And hates me. Ask anyone you like. She simply does.
2. I fell asleep at the wrong end of the bed using my Pashmina and a toy dog as a pillow.
The Dream
I was in maths. Sitting next to Eleanor like I used to. For some reason, Miss Stacey decided she didn't like me so she sent me out of the room - I think I was falling asleep in class, hugging my pashmina. Anyway, she sent me out onto the front lawn yelling from the main door to the school - the one you see in the pictures - don't ask me why, it's not anywhere near the maths block,
"What school do you think you go to?"
"I used to go to Pangbourne," emphasis on used, "and I liked it there!" Emphasis on liked. I was big on emphasis. Anyway, next thing I know, Mrs Keturtsy (excuse my spelling, she's our "acting head" I think) is tapping me on the shoulder saying,
"Oh, I nearly didn't notice you there, you must've fallen asleep." THIS IS SO OUT OF CHARACTER FOR HER! It was really cold outside but I wasn't cold (something to do with falling asleep BESIDE my duvet) and I started to walk back towards the maths block and for some reason took the route through the car park. I bumped into Eleanor, who told me the story was that I'd fallen asleep hugging my scarf and Miss Stacey had stood over me with a book, yelling at me, but I'd slept on.

Then I was on the lawn again and a car pulled up. Amy Cheng (who I barely knew before she left last year but I understand she's rich as hell) got out and I saw a flash of dalek. Then Mrs Keturtsy came over with a hockey stick asking whether I'd seen any daleks. I knowingly replied,
"That car's usually the one that brings the daleks." Pointing at Amy Cheng's car, where her parents move in front of the door, stopping the dalek from getting out (astonishing me and Mrs K).

Then I was heading for Sidmouth (the staff room block) and Mrs Harrison - the receptionist - came bundling out and asked us (Rachel was still with me) whether we'd seen someone (they had a name like "Hymn" but I thought it was a boy's name - yes, our school had acquired boys-) I (for once) didn't know and Rachel said,
"I think she's over at the hall thingy."
Mrs Harrison: Hall thingy?
Rache: Yes-um, her house had a badminton tournament or something. (suddenly I could see the badminton tournament.)
Suddenly I could see Rachel's blog. It was white. It was huge. It was all to do with maths. The newest post was definitely to do with maths, though I didn't read it and it had the title "Bolt Chocolate (Currents?)" which made me think HAHA, AC, BC, DC (apparently, my brain wasn't functioning and the fact that there wasn't a CC eluded me, I thought it was funny that it went up like, A, B, D) and that's about where I woke up. I'm officially worried.
Oh, and I'm sure Mr Simmonds was in the background of some of those scenes too, which is really odd, and I'm going to put down to the fact that Rachel was there, and she's amazing at maths, and he's an amazing maths teacher.

Hmm, on reflection, I think I ought to be worried about my sanity. :S

Calm Calm

I wish.
I am not too stressed out about the haircut any more (for now) because Rachel reassured me and I have comfort music (but Rachel helped more than it did) which consists of 'Boys Like Girls' 'The Courteeners' 'Get cape. Wear cape. Fly.'
I am sooo hyped up about the whole sleepover on Wednesday, don't get home 'till Friday thing, this is a first for me. And I cant wait to see everyone.
And if my hair looks nice, that'll be a bonus. If.
But I can't wait.
There is a HUUUUGE email conversation between the four that are doing the double sleepover, which I was going to paste here, but its too long and confusing.
Everyone's going to be sooo hyper at Rache's sleepover.
Sophie's will be just as good, maybe even better. (I'm not going to compare the two, you two can argue that out together)
I mustn't forget my glasses!!!!!
Night xxxxxx

DAMMIT!

Ok, my confidence is going down hill. The "what if"s have set in. About the haircut this is. :S:S:S:S:S:S
I hate not having any confidence in myself.

Also, I can't seem to find a way to upload my composition, or my "compersition" as I like to call it - I made a spelling mistake when I first saved the file and it's grown on me. I'll keep trying.

Much Love xx

Harumph!

Hmmm. My mother is convinced I'm incapable of getting my hair cut the way I want it. Just because last time the woman didn't cut it short enough. So she asked me to describe to her (over the phone - remember it's difficult to describe how you want your hair cut over the phone) and I said "Cut so it's just touching my shoulders, layered, the parting moved to the left and a side fringe - but quite long - that I can show them a picture of. (sorry, Rache, you're the unconsenting model here...) But die Mutti is convinced that I don't know what layers are. Jeez. Anyway, I must make it very clear what I want, seeing as it's so expensive and I actually have parental consent (booyah!) to spend this money, even though I haven't really done anything to earn it.

Omigod I'm SO glad I've got stuff to do this holiday!

Seriously, I doubt I could take much more. I have work to do but that's boring. I have nothing to do when I take a break from working though. It's awful! I am SO glad I'm busy from tomorrow 'till Friday. Then it's the
weekend and then I'm in a sailing course. Thank GOD! (By the way, I'm not at all religious, simply despairing.) We're finally going to make a new sign for our house and the other one that shares our drive. Which is sometimes fun, when I'm not cutting out letters. And then tomorrow, I'm getting my hair cut XD. I'm getting it done quite differently to usual. I'm moving my parting to the left, so it isn't centred any more. I'm getting it cut shorter, so it maybe just touches my shoulders, and I'm having it layered. At the moment it's just plain old straight. Only it's going to cost so much! That is, if my mother will spend that much on my hair :S (it's sort of £40....)
I'm so glad I have spotify. I think I would die without it. Currently listening to 'The Courteeners', I really like them, almost as much as I like 'The Killers'. We'll see.

This is it...

This is it. This is actually it. I have made my stand and I think I've finally been accepted on it. As a select few of my friends know, I am "very picky with meat" (apologies if this is the wrong meat/meet). The basic fact is, I've been uncomfortable with the idea of eating meat for quite a while. But my parents are totally against vegetarianism. So my initial plan was to ease them into it, by gradually refusing to eat more and more meat. But this just seemed to piss my mum off. So, on Friday, on the advice of someone whose advice always seems to work out, I just told them straight out. "I'm becoming a vegetarian". They didn't take me seriously. But over the course of the weekend I have:
turned down sausages for meat substitute sausages
turned down bacon for scrambled eggs
turned down bacon for scollups (ick)
turned down turkey for tuna stake
picked all the turkey out of my curry
and tonight, my parents finally took the hint. So, they are (very grudgingly) allowing me freedom to choose what I eat! Finally.
But yeah, anyway. I don't have to eat meat anymore.Which I am totally thrilled with.

HAPPY EASTER!!!

OK, aims for today:
Smile as much as possible.
See the good side in as much stuff as possible.
Be as helpful to my mother as much as HUMANELY possible.
Make our cousins feel really welcome. Really, really welcome.
Argue with Toby as little as humanely possible.
Don't get dog hair all over my skirt or blouse (she's black and white, my skirt's black and my blouse's mainly white.)
Don't text people in front of the cousins, it might make them feel like they're not interesting enough for my attention.

I think I can manage. :D I'm feeling really positive today and I love having my window open with a breeze that isn't too warm but isn't exactly cold. Plus, the sun is out! XD

Shopping

Ok, call me crazy, but I'm not a big fan of shopping. I thought. Today, it dawned on me. Shopping is AWESOME! Oh, yeah!
I have come home with:
2 school skirts ('kneelength' i.e. i got ones that roll up - my mum doesnt know that though. booyah!)
new school shoes (i had been desperate for heels but the ones i was allowed werent in my size so i got pump-like shoes, with an absolutely miniature heel that i love anyway)
1 skort
pair of denim shorts (this is a first for me, usually i shun shorts)
6 new tops
1 new pair of trainers (my school ones are too small)

Oh, yes! Also, I got a free Easter egg, - cadbury's creme egg all the way! - courtesy of the broadstreet mall.
Anyway, I am totally in LOVE with clothes. They are god. I want more XD.
And the best part,
I DONT HAVE TO WEAR DMs TO SCHOOL ANYMORE!! XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

The not so fun part - we had to sit in the opticians waiting for aaaaages because Barney's got a freckle on his eye. :S
But otherwise, I had fun. And now my legs hurt and it's time to relax.

byeeee! xxxxxx

April...

Ok, so school's finished for now. HELLO HOLIDAYS!!! On the downside, I'm going to miss everyone. Even though it's only for two weeks. I still cannot believe that this term has gone so quickly. In about a year I will be going home to revise like mad for GCSEs. I'm dead.

April Fools day. Not really a big event is it? Well, not here anyway. My train was cancelled so Ali (who I really, really don't like) decided to tell everyone I wasn't coming in because I'd broken my leg. Get a life.

I love being able to come home and not have to do any homework for the next day. It feels WONDERFUL!!! I really ought to take the opportunity to get some flute and piano practice in.

Best friend Rachel's started a blog. And seeing as it was me starting one that prompted her, I thought I'd put in a mention. www.ravesrabbitsandrandomstuff.blogspot.com Have a look.

Anyways, Happy Easter (and yes, I know it's not Easter yet, but I feel in the mood for Easter so in my opinion it is)
